In 2014, a group of adults in Dunwoody and Sandy Springs began meeting in homes to study the Bible, pray, and strengthen spiritual friendships. This group found that Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Marietta served as a wonderful temporary home on Sunday mornings, but they sensed that God was calling them to build something in their own community.
This core group incorporated under the name Dunwoody Presbyterian Church (DPC) and opened a bank account for offerings. For eighteen months the DPC core prayed for a pastor– someone who could shepherd and lead them forward. Unbeknownst to the DPC core, a pastor and church planter originally from Dunwoody, Trent McEntyre, was praying for a God-give opportunity to lead a group in starting a new church.
When the DPC core and Rev. McEntyre connected in the spring of 2016, they saw immediately that they shared a vision to know God more and love people well. The DPC core group was officially commissioned as a church plant by the ECO and Eastminister Presbyterian Church in the Fall of 2016.
Now we are connecting with people in the Dunwoody community who would share our passion for a local, relational, spiritually connected church family. If you are interested in our launch team, contact us and we’ll grab lunch or coffee so you can hear more of the vision and we can answer your questions.
Many men and women have used their gifts to begin and build DPC. Those currently serving on the leadership team are:
Pastor/Church Planter: Reverend Trent McEntyre
Assistant Pastor: Reverend Hubie Mann
Coordination and Finance: Laurie Miller
Communications and Development: Emily McEntyre
Worship: Jim Payne and Patrick Rusert
Discipleship: David Elkins, George Stewart
Operations: Peter Baine
